An array of emotion and a party change

It has taken me a while to make an "official blog statement" on how I feel about our new president mainly because I have been feeling a vast array of emotions. But anyway, here it goes:

I know that most are happy now and optimistic for the "change" that Obama will bring. I am hopeful, believe it or not. I am hopeful that he will restore American morale and unify us all as a country again. I am happy that we have come this far as a nation to elect a black president, I think it's historical. It makes my heart glad when I see people beat the odds and really be what they want to be and not place limits on that. I am all for human rights and everyone being treated as equals. That means everyone, even the unborn ones. That seems to have been overlooked because we need "change" so bad. Our economy is bad, we are at war, and most people are over Bush and his administration. I truly hope that Obama will be great for this country, he has big shoes to fill being the first black president.
I pray for Mr. Obama that he will realize that partial birth abortion is wrong, that his heart will be changed. I feel sorry for him that he has been tricked into thinking its a good or right thing. Honestly, there are a few things about Obama that scare me, but that is ok, people are always scared by things that are the unknown. I really hope that he holds up to some of the promises he has made because Americans really don't need another let down. I was optimistic before Obama was president and I still am now that he is. I am optimistic, and when the country is united, hopeful, and optimistic it proves to be better for the economy.
On another note, I have always felt a bit torn being a republican because I don't neccessarily agree with everything they say and I certainly don't like being a part of all the antics that go back and forth between republicans and democrats. This election has made me very bitter towards both parties alike. After a bit of research of what the bible says about government and the parties outside of red and blue, I have decided I am a libertarian. Although I don't agree with everything to the tee, I think its a step in the right direction. Even if what they think will never be the "popular" vote and people will think that I am just "wasting my vote", I don't care. I think it's important to get out there and vote the way you want to and on the issues that are important to you. To me, I would really like the government to stay out of my business. Don't make me pay for abortions, let me have my babies at home if I so choose (getting gov. out of healthcare), and get government out of public schooling.
Thank you very much.

I agree that the govt involves themselves too much in things that should be personal decisions. Both major parties do this. I know they think they are helping the people, but I do feel they infringe on some of my rights. Oh well. Thankfully you and I are able to have homebirths in TN!

Well I'm not head over heels but we'll see. He will have to remain neutral bc most of America still believes in traditional values. He will piss off Democrats and Rep alike if he goes from one extreme to the next, so he will have to stay in the middle somewhat and change us for the better in a postive way. we'll see , he is our first african american president, and that is nothing short of historic
