So Norah will be 4 weeks old on Monday and its been quite a month. It hasn't been quite as hard as I expected, but I am still not going a whole lot of places and she is still sleeping a lot. I did venture out by myself the other day to the grocery store with all 4 kids in tow. It wasn't that much fun, but I did it. So if I ever needed to, I know I could do it again.
The kids are adjusting well to Norah being here. They all really love her a lot and are very sweet to her. The only thing is Jacob doesn't understand that you have to be gentle with her and Ryan is constantly trying to pick her up. They are just curious about her and really do have good intentions, so its sweet.
Norah was weighed yesterday and she is already 9lbs 7oz! When she was born she was 7lbs 14oz, lost down to 7lbs 8oz by the 4th day, was past her birth weight at 2.5 weeks with 8lbs 8oz, and now a little over a week later she has gained almost another whole pound! She is doing really well obviously :)
She is still sleeping a lot, and I am thinking about moving her out of my bed. I am not sure if I am ready to move her into her crib in Baylees room, but I thought we might try the co sleeper or the pack n play. She seems to sleep for longer spans when I am not in the bed with her, she probably smells my milk.
I guess the only problem I've had is thrush. I had thrush with Jacob and now with Norah, and it is horrible. I don't think I ever fully got rid of it with Jacob (until I quit nursing him all together), so I got the pediatrician to call in Nystatin suspension and cream for Norah and my sister in law called in some Difflucan for me. Everything seems to have worked, I am in the process now of bleaching all my bras and sleep shirts. I do not want to get again!
So on the whole everything is going smoothly. We are very blessed to have such nice friends and church family, they made it so much easier on us those first two weeks. Between the church and my friends, we only had to make I think 3 meals during the first two weeks. It was so nice not having to worry about cooking dinner or having to worry about what Robb was going to cook for dinner! lol I am very grateful to everyone that made a meal for us!! Thank you!
Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well and staying healthy! School will be out very soon, lets play!
