Oh I have been so neglectful to my little blog. A lot has been going on, but I have had very little time to sit down and type something up. I should blog a little at a time, I think that's what I will try. Anyway, here are some updates on the kids.
Baylee: She is doing well in school. She is in 1st grade and is reading at an almost 3rd grade level. She still likes school and is a little less bored than previously at the start of school. As Christmas has been getting closer, she's been thinking more about what she wants from Santa. This is the first year that her list has been this expensive. She knows she is not getting everything on her list, but I was just amazed by the list itself. Some of the things she wanted, she didn't even know what they were. Like the Ipod. I said, 'Do you even know what an Ipod does Baylee?'. She says, 'No but you'll show me how to use it'. I refuse to buy something she doesn't even know how to use, but the grandparents bought her a little mp3 player to start out. So in other words, we will be buying an Ipod next year ;)
Ryan: He is doing a lot better in school. We had a bit of a rough start at the beginning of the year, but now he is adjusting well. He is learning to write his letters and is counting to 20. He is displaying more grown up behavior like sharing without being prompted to. His list for Christmas is not that big of a deal. He is just like every other 4 year old, he wants everything! If it has wheels on it, then he is delighted with it. I am amazed that he still gets excited when we (or other people) buy him that hot wheels 5 pack of cars.
Jacob: He's potty trained!! Yay!! I have been changing diapers for going on 7 years now, so I am used to it, but it always feels nice to get one out of diapers. Now his behavior, on the other hand, has made a big turn. My once laid back baby has developed into a tantrum throwing, control freak. I can tell that I am starting to break him as he shows signs of improvement, but he is still so stubborn. He wants to be independent (which is great), but he's having a hard time learning there are some things he just can't physically do. Bless his heart :) All in all he is a pretty good toddler.
Norah: Oh, she is as sweet as apple pie! She is so calm and ambitious. She has 6 teeth, can go anywhere she wants to (as long as it's on the floor), is clapping her hands on request, and has pulled herself to standing a time or two ;) She has had an ear infection though for the past month and a half. She has been through 3 rounds of antibiotics, which did nothing. Now she is on rocephin shots (her last dose is tomorrow) and hopefully this will work! If not, she will have to have tubes put in. I hate it that she's been having to deal with this for so long. :(
