Our church has challenged us at Christmas time this year with "You Got Served" cards. The deal is this: you do something nice for someone else aka serve them in some capacity and give them a "You Got Served" card at the same time. On the front the card says "You Got Served!" and the back says "Today God used me to serve you. '...that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16'". Then on the bottom of the card is our church's website.
So far I have given away two cards. My first I placed in a bag of baby clothes that I gave to one of my hubands co-workers who is a single mom of 4. I know she appreciated them. My second one I gave at McDonalds yesterday. The kids and I were headed over to a friends house at 8:30 in the morning. I knew I was going to go through the drive thru to get some biscuits for the kids. I prayed on my way there that God would allow me to bless someone by paying for their breakfast while I was there. So I pulled up intending to pay for the persons meal behind me and there was no one there. I gave the girl my order and she took a little while getting my total back to me, and still no one pulled up! I pulled around to the first window thinking, 'ok I am going to have to try again I guess'. So I pulled my card out to pay and the girl working the drive thru was typing something in her computer. When she opened the window, I asked her if there was someone behind me. She said yes, that she just took their order. So I asked if I could pay for their meal and she let out a very confused yes. She gave me both receipts and I gave her the you got served card and told her to give it to him/her and tell them I said Merry Christmas. It was such a rush to be able to do that for someone else, I enjoyed it immensely! When I pulled around to the parking lot to give my kids their biscuits, I looked at the receipt of the person behind me and they had ordered a sausage mcgriddle add cheese and a large coke, which is what my husband always orders. I certainly don't believe in coincidence, God had allowed me to bless that person for about 5 dollars. I am excited, I can't wait to give the rest of my cards away, and maybe more!

I am loving "You Got Served"! Tomorrow night is our weekly grocery run at Wal-mart. I'm planning on buying a Coke and candy bar for the cashier and a coffee or hot chocolate for the Salvation Army bell-ringers if they're still there. This is so much fun!
