Wow!!!

One of my friends told me about a book that she read and how it was absolutly wonderful. I knew my sister in law had the book, so I asked her if I could borrow it. Of course she let me and I started reading it yesterday while Jacob was napping in the afternoon. I could not put it down (that is until I had to start cooking dinner) and before I knew it, I was on page 75. The book is called "Captivating" by John and Stasi Eldride (John Eldridge is the author of "Wild at Heart"). I am not quite half way through it and so far it is awesome! It talks about how God created man and woman in the image of Him, but even more specific, man is the strong, corageous, leader side of God and woman is the captivating side that has personal relationships with others. They say that women want to be thought of as beautiful, irrepaceable, desired, and sought after, just as God wants us to seek Him out and make Him our only God. It also says that a lot about what we feel about ourselves has been put there by our parents, mainly our fathers. It's not really a self-help or what you are doing wrong book, but more of a book that helps to explore why you are the way you are and to love yourself anyway. We are important because we were not only a partner for Adam, but creation could not be finished without us and we were created in the image of God as well. It's a real powerful book, I can't wait to finish it. I heard, but not yet read, that it challenges you to let God romance your heart. My friend told me a personal testimony of when she "went along with it" and let God romance her, it was a very awesome story. Once I finish it, I will let everyone know how I liked the whole book and maybe later I will have my own personal testimony of how God is romancing my heart.

I've read Wild At Heart but not Captivating, although my cousin gives it simply rave reviews. Steve's Men's Bible study read the men's book, and I snagged it after he was finished. It was insightful into the spirit of the male, and I really enjoyed reading it. I'm excited you're reading Captivating.
