Good Deal

I got a crib for the new baby yesterday! I really wanted another crib so I wouldn't have to move Jacob out of his when the baby comes. I would like to skip the whole toddler bed with him and when he gets near 3, just move him straight into a twin bed. Well, I kind of abandoned the whole idea because cribs are so expensive, even the used ones (about $75 - $100 without the mattress).
Anyway, I was on craigslist the other day and saw an ad for a 3 in 1 crib at a really good price and she would sell the mattress with it for just a little extra. The only thing that was wrong with the crib was the plastic hardware on the front of the crib that makes the crib bar slide up and down was missing. So I looked online and you can order that piece for the crib, so we decided to go ahead and buy the crib. So we paid $30 for the crib and the mattress and will have to invest another $30 (for the hardware and we are going to paint it), for a grand total of $60! I am so glad that we were able to get it! The first picture below is what the cib looks like now, and the second picture is what it will look like when we get finished painting it.

You are so ready for a baby girl, it's palpable. No, really. I feel it.

We're also on a quest for a new bed--but for my oldest. He's become increasingly reluctant to sleep in his toddler bed (it was a convertible crib too). We hope to entice him into a twin with the added promise of a "tent-topper." His idea. I'm still not convinced a new bed's gonna cure his insomnia, but we'll try. At least this'll free up a crib for a hypothetical third kid down the road. Sorry, Thirdy. You're getting a hand-me-down!
