Horton Hears a Who and Freak Out About a Fish!

I took Baylee to see "Horton Hears a Who" on Saturday. I really enjoyed spending girl time with her. Now that she is getting older it is really cool to be able to do things with her like shopping and going to the movies. She is such a great little girl, while we were shopping she just followed me around and didn't really even complain. Then when I took her to the movies, she sat there the whole time eating her popcorn and enjoying the movie. The only noise she made was a laugh every now and again. I love my boys, but I absolutely love having a girl that I can have a day full of shopping with. Maybe when the boys get older they will want to shop, but I don't think so. I think they will be at the lake fishing with their daddy, but then again, Baylee might be with them too, she loves to fish as well. Speaking of fish, this brings me to the events of Sunday after church...

My husband is an AVID fisherman. I really don't mind him going, but I told him if he's going to be gone all day, he might as well bring some fish back that we can eat. Apparently crappie is pretty good and that is what he likes to fish for, so it all works out. Well, yesterday he brought home his first fish. The kids were making a big to do about touching the fish, so I went into the kitchen to look at it. Once I got closer to the fish I noticed that it was still struggling to breathe! I started freaking out, I couldn't believe Robb had brought home a fish that was still alive! I can deal with seeing a dead fish, but seeing that poor little fish, in my house, about to breathe its last breath was really upsetting to me. I started really crying and Robb felt bad, so he loaded back up in the van and took it back to the lake. Believe it or not, the fish was still alive when he got back to the water, and after a minute or two of reviving the fish, it swam off, probably thankful to me that I saved its life. Robb is such a sweet man to take the fish back to the lake after my little freak out; I really felt bad that he did that. I guess I am one of those 'out of sight , out of mind' people, so Robb now knows to just bring dead fish to the house. LOL

By the way, I am still having my movie night this Friday night(March 21) at 7pm for all of those that are still interested in seeing the movie or just hanging out. I am sorry it has taken so long, but I just can't help that my kids have been sick with the flu. I didn't want to risk anyone coming to my house and getting it from Jacob (he was the only one that still had a little of it left). But everyone is well now and I hope that everyone that was planning to come will still come. I was really looking forward to a get together.

I couldn't help but chuckle at the fish story. What a sweet husband you have to take the fish back to the water. I would love to come Friday, but I already have plans. I am going to see if I can rearrange the plans. If I can, I'll let you know.:)I really want to see the movie.

Fully sympathetic with you and the fish. When I was in high school and living within a mile or two of the ocean, a passing bird dropped his still-flopping catch in our driveway. I was equally horrified.
