What a day Friday ended up being. It was one of those days where if you knew how it was going to be in advance, you never would have even got out of bed. One of those days where you ask yourself, "Ok, what else now?".
Jacob has been teething horribly which has made him scream a lot and so in turn I have been a little bit tense. I actually took him to the doctor today and he has an ear infection, which probably added to his discomfort. But anyway, back to Friday. I woke up and made the kids breakfast and then my step-dad calls, he is on his way to Hilton Head where his parents live. My Step Grandfather has passed away. It really wasn't a surprise because he was on hospice, but the Lord is certainly merciful and he did not suffer for long.
So I was a little upset about that and I tried to call my mother to tell her,but I couldn't get in touch with her. As I have explained before I have had problems out of my mother for a while now (ever since I was preggers with Jacob actually), so when I can't get in touch with her I think the worse. So I get busy doing something in the middle of trying to track down my mother and her boyfriend calls me and tells me he thinks she is at the hospital because he got a message on his phone from the night before (he said he couldn't really understand her). So finally by the end of the day I find out where she is and that she is ok. I have been really praying hard for my mother and have a lot of people praying for her also. I hope this is the answer to my prayer, maybe she will finally get the helps that she so desperately needs. Something always has to give, so I hope this is that moment for her.
Then at lunchtime I had to take the kids over to a resale shop for Ryan to try on a tux for my sister in laws wedding in June. Once we returned about 2 hours later, our dog Jake was sitting on the porch and looked like he had got into something nasty, like a water puddle. I went inside after making a remark about how dirty he was to him, and then went back out after about 5 minutes. The second time I went out, he actually looked at me and there was blood all over his face and he eye was swollen! I frantically called Robb to come home so he could take him to the vet, from the way he looked it seemed to me that he had been attacked by another animal. Once he was at the animal hospital, it was determined that he would loose that eye and they needed to go ahead and prep him for surgery. While he was in surgery they got to take a good look at him and said that he had actually been hit by a car! He didn't break any bones, but he lost a few teeth and his right eye. It's so pitiful, I feel so sorry for him. He is real bad about chasing after cars, especially our next door neighbors car when he comes up and down his driveway. Maybe he won't chase cars anymore, I just wish that he didn't have to learn his lesson the hard way. We love Jake, he's such a good dog, it breaks my heart to see him hurt :(
So all that, in one day, yeah... I know it could have been a lot worse, but that was a little much for any one day.

Wow! What a day! That is the kind of day that deserves some good chocolate and a nice long soak in the tub.;)
Poor sweet Jake. Give him lots of treats and extra love. When I was twelve, our cocker spaniel was hit by a car once and bit her tongue nearly in half. A few years after that she was attacked by a cat and had her cornea scratched up. She still lived to be sixteen. And they say CATS have nine lives!
I'm so sorry to hear about your day. You are always in thoughts and prayers...all of you...love ya Abs.
