Saw this today...

A friend of mine posted this article on Facebook today.  When I read it I felt a lot better about the decision to keep Ryan at home.  Just another affirmation for me.

I love that article and the fact that you are going to keep him home. I agree with all the findings because that is exactly what the public school system was saying about our son-he needed to be medicated. Now, they didn't come right out and say it because they could be sued, but the notions were there. Again, I am glad you have made the "right" decision on keeping Ryan at home with you.

Both of my step-brothers were ADD and the older of them I am pretty sure had ODD or CD as well. My step-mother, having raised both of them, advised me to put Ryan in school so that they could help him. I was thinking, I could better "help" my child if there is something wrong than the public school system, I'm his mother! Robb and I made the final desicion to keep him at home and its been a very peaceful feeling. If we end up finding out there is something going on with Ryan and it's not just slow social development, we don't want to do it with the school system breathing down our necks. I love the school that my kids are zoned for and I think any of them could do well in it, with the exception of Ryan.
