Plateau!!

It's been about three weeks since I last posted. I have been on a weight plateau for the better part of this month. The scale has not moved and for anyone who has experienced this, it is highly frustrating.  There have been brief moments when I have questioned the plan and the THM lifestyle, but I know a lifestyle is not always going to be quick results.  I have taken part in so many things that promised quick weight loss and even though they fulfilled their promise, the weight came back on just about as quick as it left.  That reeks havoc on your metabolism.  A true change in your body and lifestyle requires time and consistent behaviors.  And honestly, after 5 kids in 10 years, my weight has gone up and down a LOT!  Not just from pregnancies, but from yoyo dieting.  I think my body is trying to heal itself from all that.

I have been doing a lot of interval training, running, and weights and I feel so good and energetic.  Heck, for me to be able to run 3 miles in the morning and still keep up with 5 kids for the rest of the day, I feel like I'm doing well.  I have never felt as strong as I do now (excluding that feeling right after you give birth! Lol)  It feels good to be happy with where I'm at in the process and embracing that it is a process. So what if it takes me 4 months to loose 26 pounds! If I keep at it, before the summer is up, I will be at my goal weight.  And I honestly can say that the THM lifestyle has not been hard or challenging.  The only thing that has been hard is reprogramming myself from the way that I have always eaten.

Anyway, back to the plateau.  I've noticed the last few days that I've had a little extra room in my pants, so I guess during my plateau time I was loosing some inches!  Got on the scale this morning and it had finally moved downward by two pounds, so I cheered a little!  Later I went to Walmart to shop for clothes to take on my Dominican Republic trip and I got to buy a smaller size!! That non scale victory was better than anything!!
