It's That Time Again!

Here we go again... another one is ready to be potty trained, but I have a sneaking suspision that Ryan is going to be a bit harder to train then Baylee was. She potty trained shortly after she turned two and it had almost nothing to do with me. We were working with her, but as soon as she saw her older cousin start wearing 'big girl panties', it was all over. She wanted to wear them too, and she did. Within a matter of maybe 2 weeks, she was completly potty trained, even at night. However, I think my luck has only struck once because it seems Ryan is already displaying signs of stubbornness when it comes to the potty.

Yesterday, Ryan peed twice and pooped once on the potty. I am so proud that he did that, but the way he did it really made me realize that he is so ready to be completely potty trained. Robb and I have been waiting on potty training because he has only here recently started talking better. If I leave his diaper off and let him run around naked, he will use the potty. He has the occasional slip up and pees on my floor, but for the most part he knows where to do his business. He will, however, poop and pee in his pull-up. So now in order to get him potty trained, I am going to have to stay in the house and not go anywhere for who knows how long until he understands the concept. I am just so over changing two babies diapers, it's time for Ryan to say bye bye to them. Plus, his poop is bona fide adult poop, he eats the same things as we do and doesn't have a bit of breast milk. In an attempt to speed up this process, I am going to start bribing him. It totally works so I am going to go get some M&M's this evening and give him one after every time he pees and two after every time he poops. Maybe that will help with getting him to potty consistently and then we can try some 'big boy underwear' later.

Hopefully by Monday or so, he will have a better grasp of the potty. I am so ready to just get this over with. He is not the smartest child in the world, but he is smart enough to understand not to poop in his pants. Pray for me that Ryan will not see my frustration that builds up inside of me during this process. :)
