Monday Again...

No real purpose to this blog, just a bunch of updates on a few things. First off, Ryan is doing pretty well with his potty training, he just has to be constantly reminded and taken to the potty. He is going before he goes to sleep (at night time and at naps) and after he wakes up. When we are home, we keep him naked from the waist down and he will do all his business in the potty if we remind him too. We actually went to my in-laws last night, and he peed in their potty, but he also had an accident too. I won't even attempt to presume how long this will take to get him fully trained, but he is a smart boy. Maybe if we continue to limit where we go and continue to be consistent, then we can achieve our goal and have his "Big Day" (no more diapers day) on February 1st.
Secondly, I have lost 5 pounds on my diet this past week. I should be excited because that is a lot just for one week. But I weighed myself last Wednesday and I had already lost 3 pounds, so that means I have only lost 2 pound in 4 days. I shouldn't be discouraged, maybe I just loose my weight in spurts. Robb got on the scales yesterday, and he has lost 7 pounds, that's like a pound a day and probably the source of my frustration. But I am happy for him and he does need to loose more weight than me, so I am glad to see that its working and I know he is happy for loosing that weight. Its just not fair! I wanna loose 7 pounds in 7 days!! But seriously, I am proud of myself and I will continue on my path to loosing those 33 pounds. I walked three times last week, but I think I am going to do some tae bo this week. The experts say that if you breastfeed exclusively, as I do, that you can be burning up to 600 calories a day. I guess I am not burning close to that amount or I would have lost more than 5 pounds, since I am cutting my calorie intake down to 1500 a day. Once again, I am actually motivated to keep working, just pray for me that I will be content with the amount of weight I loose and continue to be motivated and set a positive example for my children.

Lastly, I wanna gives kudos to Nicole Richie. In this world where all the celebrities schedule their c-sections on the first time for no other reason than "they don't want to be in pain", Nicole actually pushed out her baby girl last week. I don't know if she was induced or even had an epidural, but it doesn't matter to me, she did a wonderful thing by attempting to deliver vaginally. I know, this is totally one of those subjects that I find interesting that bores everyone else, but I think it's great. I thought she would totally be the type to schedule her c-section right after she gets her hair and nails done, but she really surprised me. I hope she turns out to be a wonderful mother and really has the commitment to her child that it takes to be a great parent.

I hope everyone is doing well and had a wonderful weekend. I am going to post a picture of the kids that I took. I actually got them to sit still and smile for a picture, something I haven't been able to accomplish yet.

Good luck with your diet Abbey! One things that makes a huge difference is just eating at home and preparing your own meals. We've been doing this for a year now and bot fo us have some weight (without adding exercise)! Running after the kids helps too! I love your picture today!

Still adore that photo.

I wasn't aware that Nicole gave birth vaginally--kudos to her! If I'd had the option, I'd have done that with my sweet ones. They're here, healthy, and gorgeous, though, so I'm not going to complain.

Isn't it completely unfair how easily men seem to be able to shed unwanted pounds? My husband quit drinking soft drinks for a couple months and was able to drop about 10 pounds, just like that. I read someplace that breastfeeding moms often find it difficult to lose that last 10-20 lbs of pregnancy weight because their body's in "fat-storage mode" for the milk supply. I guess I'm holding onto the fat stores for both my kids, because I could stand to lose about thirty lbs!

Sounds like things are going great with Ryan. We struggled for months with Connor to get him where he is now. I think part of that was just starting him too early. Now we seldom even have to remind him to go potty. Once they gain that "muscle memory" you're golden!

Thanks for the comment on my blog. And I did receive the wrap the other day. I meant to email you and let you know. Thanks. We'll have to get together sometime after this baby is born.
